Where does the time go? 5 months ago we shared our first and only blog. Since then we’ve hosted a skating event, Crowned our first ever “artist of the summer” (props to Jim Brennan- be sure to check out his photos below as well as our page dedicated to his efforts), held a “war is for the birds” competition- Sara and Val, the shirt design is coming, we promise. We’ve worked a merchandise table at the Highland Fourth of July fireworks and spent a weekend slinging tees at the Rosendale Street Festival.

We’ve kept you abreast through facebook® and twitter®, and you’ve shown your appreciation in ways you aren’t even aware of (1,130 fans on facebook® that fast is unbelievable- thanks for that). So check it out, now we want to know what YOU want to see from a.p.s. We can’t promise to come through for everyone, but we will seriously consider each and every idea (within reason). Let us know on facebook®, on our blog, or shoot us an e-mail.

Oh yeah, and send us a design to slap on this a.p.s. snowboard we are designing. Every design submitted will be featured, we promise. In the meantime, we’ll try to blog a little more regular in between design sessions and such. Pz.

While this peaceful stance thing is hot off the press and the ink is still drying on most of the stickers, we want to take a second to share with you our vision. Although we are dripping wet behind the ears when it comes to running a business, we recognize that businesses succeed and fail every day, and the amount of effort and passion put forth is often a direct correlation. Well, ladies and gentlemen, A Peaceful Stance is going to be around for a while. You might as well give us the warm welcome now.

I've known Jeff Paine for about as long as I can remember. He is a young man that has a passion for the arts like you read about. You won't meet another person that has taken to music and art design, and the skate and snow culture that surrounds it quite like Jeff has. While I share a passion for this scene just as strong as the next, I say that assuming the next is pretty much anyone other than Jeff. He takes it to a whole other level, and that is precisely why you are reading this blog today.

When we first started talking about starting a company that highlighted our passions, we saw the fiery blaze of intrigue and excitement fade quickly as "life" seemed to be succeeding in its efforts to extinguish our flames. However the hot embers of our initial ambitions lay smoldering red and orange for some time after. And then they were stoked- stoked and rekindled like a romance you might catch on the Lifetime movie network. Just like that the flames were back and burning hotter than ever. We had to do this. We couldn't rest another minute. We had to put aside all the questions and concerns and reservations and take a stance.

Jeff and I have decided to begin this project not hoping to blow the socks off of the fashion industry or become the next Quiksilver or even catch Jake Burton's eye (although how sweet it would be), but rather to share with the world our passion. Our passion not only for music and sports, but for life and the beauty behind it. Our passion for peace and positivity. Our acknowledgment of all that is wrong in the world and our best effort to mend it. And although we can stand and stand proud on our own, we want our passions and our efforts to be echoed across the nation. We want to hear you on the other side of town and on the other side of the country, as you take your peaceful stance and make a difference. Give peace a chance. Take A Peaceful Stance.
